A downloadable game for Windows

About

Manor Loop is an anomaly game inspired by Exit 8

You find yourself trapped in strange manor with a never-ending hallway. It seems to loop endlessly... or does it?

Pay attention to everything, this is your key to escaping this nightmare.

Instructions

  1. If you spot something... a little off... turn around immediately and head back in the direction you came from.
  2. Otherwise, continue on in the direction you were going.

If you go the correct direction, you will progress 1 level. If you go the wrong direction, you will lose 1 level.

Note: The first hallway, hallway 0, will always be normal.

If you can successfully follow these two instructions 13 times, you might find a way out of here. Good luck.

Controls

  • Move: WASD
  • Sprint: Left Shift
  • Zoom in: Right-mouse Button
  • Pause: Escape

IMPORTANT

Some users using older hardware, such as the GTX family of NVIDIA GPUs may encounter an issue where the camera violently and rapidly wobbles and spins. Try turning 'Look Smoothing' and 'V-Sync' off in the settings menu.

wow i love your game, its very hard to find a game like this on itch.io, good job developer!

Thank you so much for giving it a try! Glad you enjoyed!

For some reason, the moment I move my mouse, the view starts spinning wildly.  If I don't move it, everything is fine.  Even a small movement with set it off, even with the sensitivity as low as it go without going straight to zero.  Game looks fun to play, but I'll have to wait and hope this is fixable.

Hi Kruhl, thank you so much for giving it a try.

I am so sorry you are facing this issue. That is really interesting. I've seen numerous other people play this game on different computers, but no one else has experienced this problem.

Did adjusting mouse sensitivity (either in game or in your computer settings) have any noticeable effect at all?

So far, no.  I turned it down to the minimum, and no effect.  I don't know if it helps, but I'm using a Firebase gaming mouse, model m6, going by the sticker info.  That said, it'd be hard to see if the sensitivity was  doing much, because it was spinning so fast that everything looks like flashing images.

I did some more experimenting, and it looks like the view will tend to stabilize if I'm in the hallway at the very start, but the view goes crazy again if I try to leave the area.  Also, it might actually be wobbling back and forth really fast?  It's kinda hard to tell.

Also, my graphics card driver was updated just a few days ago, but it is a bit of an older card - NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030.  I don't know exactly which info will help, but I do know debugging can be a real pain sometimes.  Might as well throw in anything that might be useful.

This is a tough situation, as I am not able to reproduce the issue and do not have access to your exact computer set up. But if you are willing to assist, I would love to know if the logs contain any error on your machine. They can be found here:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Manor Loop\logs

The easiest way to access this AppData folder is by opening your file explorer and typing %appdata% into the folder directory bar at the top and then pressing ENTER on your keyboard. This will open the AppData/Roaming folder. in there, simply go to Godot -> app_userdata -> Manor Loop -> logs.

If any logs contain information beyond the general engine and hardware info, feel free to send it my way.

All logs will contain this information by default:

Godot Engine v4.3.stable.mono.official.77dcf97d8 - https://godotengine.org
Vulkan 1.3.289 - Forward+ - Using Device #0: NVIDIA - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

Most of the logs are just the basics, and of them just has a couple of extra lines.  Not sure if it'll help at all:

Godot Engine v4.3.stable.mono.official.77dcf97d8 - https://godotengine.org

Vulkan 1.3.289 - Forward+ - Using Device #0: NVIDIA - NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030

Aside from the "level_normal", it's the same as the rest of the logs, as far as I can tell.

Thanks for trying to help, guess I just ended up with a weird rare bug.

Greetings, Kruhl! I have good news. The game may work for you now. My father actually recently purchased the GTX 1060 and he ran into the same issue you were describing. How interesting. I still do not know what was causing issue for you and my father, however, I have made a few changes that worked for him and may work for you.

Here's what you'll want to do:

1. Download the latest version of the game, version 'Release 2024.11.08'.

2. Once you get into the game and press play, go into the settings menu and try toggling the new setting I added 'Look Smoothing' off.

3. You may want to also try toggling v-sync off if you still face the issue.

If you decide to try it out, let me know if this resolved the issue for you!

I wish to be stuck in the loop for longer because it was so fun and cool. And I liked the portrait of the creepy old man smiling, his warm gaze made me feel comfort and it felt like he was my grandpa watching over me fr
